Who is this Matt Headland?
That’s a fair question. Simply put, I help therapists navigate the world of digital marketing and get growing. I’ve been helping therapists grow their business using Google Ads since 2017. I use proven strategies and tracking to help you get the most out of your marketing budget, while not breaking the bank with management fees.
Just like you, my goal is to get more people in front of therapists.
You’re not a therapist! How’d you get into this line of work?
While I’m not a mental health professional myself, I have worked exclusively with mental health professionals since 2017. I got my start helping therapists with Google Ads through a chance meeting in East Tennessee in the summer of 2017.
At the time, I was working at Appalachia Service Project, a home repair nonprofit, while preparing for my final year of college. I ran into John Clarke, founder and CEO of Private Practice Workshop. We got to talking about digital marketing and Google Ads, both of which I studied and worked on in college. I started working with him as a Google Ads Specialist, and the rest is history.
Great. But who are you really?
I’m a Northeast Ohioan (Warren, OH to be precise) educated at the University of Akron in Digital Marketing. After college, I moved to beautiful Johnson City, TN where I worked at a home repair nonprofit while side hustling as a Google Ads specialist for mental health professionals. When the opportunity presented itself to do freelance marketing for therapists full-time I jumped on it.
When I’m not hard at work helping therapists grow their business, I run, hike, and bike my way around Johnson City, or wherever I may be. Traveling is a passion of mine, as well.
